Day 10

Drove up the hill for a 1:00 briefing. 30-50kmh winds from the ESE. We waited until 15:30 when the day was canned and we drove back down. Looking forward to the next 3 days where the forecast is hinting at some flying - we shall see

Too bad about the wind. Hope the next days give you all some more flying and opportunities for improving scores.

Go team!

Hi, a good friend of mine sent me this email and said I could post it to the blog - she's not a pilot, so it's funny to get a view of things from her perspective - enjoy! Heike

Dear Heike,

I’m checking the blogs each day and thinking of you often so there is great disappointment when I read about the weather conditions and how it’s limiting your flying time. I hope it picks up this week cos we’re running out of time. I am really enjoying being part of this. Sorry – I couldn’t work out how to email the team to tell them to fly well too!

I’m learning a whole new language as you may imagine, as well as learning about the weather. The imagination can run wild with clouds pumping, gaggles, triangles (nothing like what I used to play in Grade 1 percussion I’m sure), open windows and thermals (which you probably wouldn’t need if you closed the window. Uh, oh!) Oh, and goals worth 1000 points. I’m used to 6 points per goal but let me tell you, you deserve 1000 points every time you fly irrespective of whether you make the goal line or complete the task. You’re all amazing. And finally, would you please advise on Cu and CuNim. I have given this some thought and wonder if it’s Come Up and Come up now it’s magnificent or just paraglider speak for cloud coverage. I’m guessing the latter but like the former!

Love the photos on the sites. Tell the guys to keep them coming please.

Have fun

Love Gail
